Leggings (my all time favorites) / Top

I have finally started to work out again and it feels really good. The past years I haven’t been very active at all. When I grew up I was really into sports, I was more like the boys and loved to play with balls and compete in everything. I played handball for 6 years, I also played tennis and golf for a while. However, since then I’ve had periods of being active and going to the gym but I haven’t had a routine that I’ve enjoyed. It’s been something that’s been feeling very forced, I’ve been going to the gym because I forced myself and I didn’t really enjoy it to be honest. So I quit, because I will simply not continue doing something that I don’t enjoy or feel good doing.

For the past 4-5 weeks I’ve been following a new routine, it’s very simple but it’s something that I really enjoy! I don’t think working out really needs to be so complicated, it’s just about moving your body and being active. First of all I have set a goal to walk at least 8000-10000 steps each day which fits very well into my life since I go on several walks with Penny every day. Depending on the day I will also do a 30-50 minute workout at home, I know there are so many different programs online but I have been using AloMoves and it’s been working very well for me. There are different kind of classes like fitness, pilates, meditation and yoga from beginner to advanced level.

For me it’s been important not to push myself too much. It needs to be something that I enjoy because if it isn’t, I won’t do it. Don’t set goals that you know that you’re not going to reach, start out easy and then as it goes you can add on more. The other day I went out running for the first time in years, it’s was the shortest run but I managed it and that made me happy. Next time time it will probably be a little, little easier and in a month maybe I can do it without a struggle. Just have fun with it, start out with your partner or a friend - challenge each other, start out with working out 1-2 times a week. Find a balance that fits you and your life!

My last little thought, something that has been making me more motivated is great workout clothes and equipment. I have a really nice yoga mat and resistance bands from Abilica that I love so much hah, puts a little smile on my face every time I roll it out! x
